I just installe dasBlog 2.3 straight from the web-files download onto a hosted environment at 1and1.

It is completely unreadable. Every character appears in some strange encoding. All I can see is lots of funny squares an symbols.

The exact same site runs fine from my personal PC (Windows 7 64 bit).

Any ideas what could be causing this? Is there some restriction at 1and1?

can you tell me how you tested this? Which browser were you using? Which O/S? and which regional settings?

I'm beginning to suspect this is some kind of compression issue? When I use my local development server, the home page is returned as about 28000 bytes, but it's only about 8000 bytes when it fails.

Just once, it worked for me from Google Chrome,when I just installed it. But the very next time I refreshed it failed again. It won't work for me any more. I have now tried two different clients (both running Windows 7), and three browsers (IE 9, Firefox and Chrome). My locale is en-gb.

Since I don't have any problems with my development web server, I might guess it's a problem with IIS in the hosted server.

I will try contacting the hosting provider.

Any other ideas?
