Am I correct in thinking that to support 'tagging' in dasBlog - we're simply just using dasBlog's categories.... and showing the tag cloud instead of a category list - and that Technorati will just find the 'categories' as 'tags' in the feeds?

I attended a Barcamp over the weekend... http://www.barcampbangkok.org/ - and the importance of being able to tag blog posts with smaller community oriented events was brought home nicely.

Yes.  Technorati use the categories in your RSS feed as the source of tag information.  See this Technorati article for details.

The categories you specify in dasBlog are made available in the RSS feed.  The categories in my About Me page look like this in my RSS:

      <category>BenTaylor</category>
      <category>Page</category>
      <category>PlayerPal</category>
      <category>ShapeFactory</category>

Thanks Ben. I think I'm going to use a 'combination' approach - main categories on the site redisplayed as a tag cloud....http://www.58bits.com combined with additional Technorati tags per post as required for one offs....

Was looking for Tag4writer WLW plugin but it's no longer on CodePlex. May add this to an existing plugin I created a while back....

I tag my posts manually with the WLW Tagging plugin.
