Adding Print image-button/hyperlink

Dec 5, 2008 at 9:01 PM

Trying to customize a new install of dasBlog, I wondered if there is any way to set a print screen clickable image, similar to and below the e-mail icon, that the viewer could use to print the screen? Similarly, any way to place a hyperlinked "print" text at the bottom right of postings/comments to the left of the "disclaimer" link (functioning similar). I'm struggling with how best to give the viewer the ability to print posts or comments should they need to.

I'm not sure to which pages to add the code (HTML or JavaScript) to add a printing feature.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. :)

Kind Regards,

Ok here is a start for a print button for you main page.

Edit the file "homeTemplate.blogtemplate" in your chosen theme directory.

Add this to the file (html page header):

<SCRIPT Language="Javascript">
function printWindow(){
   bV = parseInt(navigator.appVersion)
   if (bV >= 4) window.print()

And then where ever you want a print button, place this:

<SCRIPT Language="Javascript">
    document.write('<form><input type=button value="Print this Page" name="Print" onClick="window.print()"></form>');

This works but I don't care for it!
