Need 301 Redirect, Now using Dash instead of Plus sign

Hi all.

I had to change the configuration of our blog so that we use dashes instead of plus signs for our URLs.

I think I can do 301s by using the newtelligence.DasBlog.UrlMapper section in the blog's web.config file, but I'm not sure how to do it.

I read that it must always be a regex??

Any help appreciated!!!

dasBlog will direct to the correct post independent of the url used (-/+ or nothing). So you won't need to change anything, Google et al. should update their indexes automatically.

Thanks for the quick reply Paul.

But when I click on a link to one of our articles I get a 404.11 error.

Try :)

I wonder if I am doing something wrong (e.g. do I need to change some value in the Configuration tab when logged in?)?

That looks like an IIS setting you'll have to tweak... IIS seems to stop you before can reach the dasBlog logic.

Thanks again Paul, I've contacted our web host, we'll see what happen!

Hello. Our web host did fix the 404 problem.

Unfortunately I cannot help you out ... I went back to using plus signs in our article URLs.

From the posted replies apparently DasBlog will automatically do a 301 when you change from using a plus sign to a dash, but I never verified this!
