rather than

This results in HTTP error 500,
System.InvalidOperationException: content/binary/PC314980.jpg Web Service method name is not valid.

RFC5005 defines a convention for having archives of feeds organized in chunks of an arbitrary size based on time. Using this convention, publishers can reduce the size of their "latest items" feed, and thus save bandwidth and CPU.

2. While on Page 2, remove the last blog roll listed.

I have just ported my site to a new server, which is running IIS 7. The DasBlog version I am running is 2.3.9074.18820.

When I click on an article link (e.g. http://www.healthquotes.ca/blog/2009/09/21/2010+Vancouver+Olympics.aspx) I get the following error: "HTTP Error 404.11 - Not Found
The request filtering module is configured to deny a request that contains a double escape sequence."

I don't see a double escape sequence though.

I had this happen to me as well and it's because of the "+" characters in the URL. This particular StackOvervlew question & answer were very helpful for figuring this out: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1453218/is-enabling-double-escaping-dangerous

You just need to update the web.config as described.

Found this issue in rev: 64765 in the below path:

All I did was open the solution, fire a build and run. I am getting the following exception:

There was an error reflecting type 'newtelligence.DasBlog.Web.SiteConfig'.

Here's the inner exception:

{"You must implement a default accessor on newtelligence.DasBlog.Web.Core.ValidTagCollection because it inherits from ICollection."}

I've had this problem for several years now. It seems like I'm the only though I have installed dasBlog on several serveres.
When I install dasBlog I download the binaries, extract the files, and copy the files in dasblogce to my website in IIS. I then configure the security-files and then I login to the blog. If I want to add a post using IE only a P-tag is loaded in the main text area - this also happens with Chrome. In Firefox the tinyMCE loads normally.

As mentioned - this has been going on for several years.
A bad implementation of the RTF-field?

Turn on IE8 compatibility in IE and it will work.
In IE you can turn this on by site, or interactive by pusing the compatibility icon or permanently by changing your blog theme code, bBy editing/adding a meta tag field in your home template file "homeTemplate.blogtemplate" as follows:

I've just installed dasBlog via WebPI, and all went well, and site was responding... however when trying to access /blogger.aspx it said does not exists... hmmm then i tried to switch app pool to classic mode, and then /blogger.aspx is servered

running Win2k8 r2 with iis 7.5

When I try to configure Notification Settings and click "Test SMTP Server" I recive the message "An error has been encountered while processing the page. We have logged the error condition and are working to correct the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience."

You may see this if your information typed into the Notification Settings section was wrong OR if you pressed the Test SMTP Server button without typing/retyping your password in the SMTP password box. You have to type in the password everytime you want to test. If you do not type in the password the SMTP test will fail because the account can't log in.

As for the message you receive on failure. DasBlog has a log folder and will create a file in the folder YYYY-MM-DD.events.log. You can look at this log to see what is failing.

If all works well your screen should refresh and you should have an email with a subject of "dasBlog test message" and body of "This is a test message from dasBlog. If you are reading this then everything is working properly."

The Remember Me check box always returns false. This is a known issue for the DotNetOpenID library prior to version 2.5.1 as captured by issue 156 (see http://code.google.com/p/dotnetopenid/wiki/VersionChanges). The current DotNetOpenID library being used is 2.4.3.

If you select the "Remember Login" checkbox during the log-on procedure, it doesn't remember...

When I close my browser or simply wait about 30 minutes, my session seems to be gone and I have to login again.

I'm using:
* dasBlog version 2.1.8102.813 on Win 2003 R2
* Internet Explorer 7.0 (with IEPro v2.1)

This was a change from 1.1 to 2.0 of .Net. MS considered creating a cookie of 50 years to be a security risk. This is what happened for you in 1.1 when selecting the remember me checkbox. In 2.0 the NEW default is to set it to whatever your timeout setting is in the Forms tag in your web.config OR the default of 30 minutes. You can fix this by changing your forms tag timeout value to something large.
<forms name=".DASBLOGAUTH" protection="All" timeout="129600" path="/" cookieless="UseCookies" /> for example with set the cookie to last 3 months. If you check remember me in this setup your cookie will last 3 months.
You can also add sliding expiration to true which will update the cookie to a new 3 month window every time you login...

Tim's code will work also but the above scenario according to MS is more secure and you can change this without any code updating & recompiling.

Created Issue: UserView.aspx not working due to dayEntries not getting loaded [6432]

When using UserView to filter entries by user, you only get empty pages. After debugging, I found this is due to the dayEntries being iterated having Loaded == false and no Load method being called. A simple dayEntry.Load(data); in line 1122 of BlogDataService.cs fixes this issue.

Recently my blog has been duplicating the same post several times, more than 10. The post are submitted via email and I have had no problem with this for at least 1 year now. There is only 1 xml per entry in the content folder. Anyone have any suggestions?

but it recognized the link as potential XSS string and did not let it through. In C#/java, such notion of generics is quite common.

I installed dasblog on my personal site successfully. and i can post and edit an article now. but i cannot set its post-time as though i chose my timezone in "configuration" and "always use" is also selected, it still showed UTC time (NOT my time-zone) after the aricle is post on my blog page. So, please tell me how to set its post-time in my time-zone?
And delete button is not useful as if i click "delete" button following the article after i log in, it will lead to an error page, which says "The page you are searching for might have been removed, renamed or is temporarily unavailable." please tell me how to make the delete button useful?
