Notifications don't work...


When I try to configure Notification Settings and click "Test SMTP Server" I recive the message "An error has been encountered while processing the page. We have logged the error condition and are working to correct the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience."
What can be that?

You may see this if your information typed into the Notification Settings section was wrong OR if you pressed the Test SMTP Server button without typing/retyping your password in the SMTP password box. You have to type in the password everytime you want to test. If you do not type in the password the SMTP test will fail because the account can't log in.

As for the message you receive on failure. DasBlog has a log folder and will create a file in the folder YYYY-MM-DD.events.log. You can look at this log to see what is failing.

If all works well your screen should refresh and you should have an email with a subject of "dasBlog test message" and body of "This is a test message from dasBlog. If you are reading this then everything is working properly."
